These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Jargonaut mobile application ("the App") provided by [LEGAL_ENTITY] ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The service
Jargonaut is an educational app that teaches software engineering terminology through daily missions, quizzes, streaks, and a rank progression system. Content is provided for general educational purposes.
2. Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
3. Free and Pro tiers
The App offers a free tier and a paid subscription, "Jargonaut Pro", with additional features. Some features are limited on the free tier.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and renewal
- Jargonaut Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription and/or a one-time lifetime purchase, at the prices shown in the App.
- Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not within the App. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Except where required by law or store policy, payments are non-refundable. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
5. Virtual currency (Coins)
The App includes "Coins", a virtual currency used for in-app actions (such as extra missions, streak saves, and crossword access). Coins have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and are non-transferable and non-refundable except where required by law. We may modify Coin pricing, earn rates, and uses over time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including: reverse engineering, attempting to bypass purchase or access controls, disrupting the service, or using it unlawfully.
7. Intellectual property
The App, its content, branding ("Jargonaut"), and design are owned by [LEGAL_ENTITY] or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for its intended purpose.
8. Educational disclaimer
App content is for general learning and may be simplified. It is provided "as is" without warranties of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose, and is not professional advice.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available". We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the App, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
